Best harnesses for french bulldogs

We tested and tried out 17 harnesses that claim to be specifically designed to support the body shape of the french bulldog. We tried them on our own frenchies for a few days each. Here’s what we found.

When we created this list, we took into account both the functionality and design, as we know a lot of frenchie owners have a very refined taste for esthetics. However, to our own surprise (and disappointment), we found out that some of the beautiful designs that are trending on Instagram were actually not quite comfortable for our frenchies, so read this before you start torturing your dog.

As you probably know, french bulldog is a brachycephalic breed, which is a fancy scientific name for short-nosed dogs. This makes them cute but this also means they are very prone to breathing-problems – so harnesses for frenchies should be designed with this in mind. You don’t want to make their poor respiratory system even worse.

All manufacturers claim their harness is perfectly designed for frenchies, but is it, really? We ordered and tried 17 frenchie harnesses that seemed to be most popular, and put them on the test with frenchies from our own breed.
